Rocky Neck's East Beach Closed To Swimming
Shellfishing areas in Waterford and East Lyme are also closed.
East Beach at Rocky Neck State Park is closed to swimming. The Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection closed the area after water samples collected on July 22 indicated elevated bacteria levels. The West Beach remains open.
Ledge Light Health District also reports that all shellfishing areas in Niantic, on the River and in Niantic Bay, and in Waterford on the Niantic River and in Jordan Cove remain closed as of yesterday.
