Waterford Student Plays In High School Football All-Star Game

Team Guard beat Team Marines but just barely.

The Connecticut High School Coaches Association Hall of Fame Classic Military Bowl was played Saturday at Rentschler Field in Hartford. The all-star game for high school seniors has 55 players on each team, one called Team National Guard and the other called Team Marines.

Each team is comprised of the best High School players in the state and this year, that included Waterford defensive linesman David Wilcox, who played for the Marines.

Ledyard High football coach Jim Buonocore coached the Guard and Windsor's Rob Fleeting coached the Marines. The Guard won but it was a close game. The final score was 15-14.
