Waterford Police Warn of Person Possibly Stealing from Cars

Police say person might have been stealing change from Waterford cars.

The Waterford Police Department said it found a person early this morning walking around Waterford with a large amount of change in his or her pocket, two weeks after the same person was arrested for stealing change out of cars in Groton.

The department said it found a person at 4:27 this morning on Kenyon Road, after just coming from Vauxhall Street Ext., with a large amount of change in the person’s pockets and “no reasonable explanation for having it,” according to the department’s Facebook page. The person was arrested in Groton two weeks ago for stealing change from vehicles, according to Waterford Police.

The department said it is possible the person was doing the same this morning and the surrounding neighborhoods were checked, although no “victim vehicles” were found. The department asked all residents who believe they might have been victimized by this person to call the department at 860-442-9451.
