Well, the animal shelter has that opportunity, but it needs your help. Readers Digest is running a contest called “We Hear You America” where $5 million is handed out to 20 different towns, each receiving anywhere from $35,000 to $500.

As of 2:00 p.m. today, Waterford has received 40,782 cheers, good for 47th place. Currently, the leader has just over 1 million cheers. However, with everybody voting 10 times a day, that gap could be overcome.
The voting ends Feb. 7, so cheer and cheer often. It’s a totally free way to help your town (and all your pets) get something it really needs.
