Postal Worker Seriously Injured in Waterford Crash

A 54-year-old man was transported by the Life Star emergency helicopter service this afternoon following an accident on Butlertown Road.

A press release from the Waterford Police Department:

Today, at around 1:47 p.m., members of the Waterford Police Department, along with Waterford Emergency medical services, responded to a one-car motor vehicle on Butlertown Road near the Montville town line.

The vehicle involved was a US postal delivery vehicle occupied by a 54-year-old man. No other passengers were in the vehicle.

The male operator was diagnosed with serious injuries at the scene and transported by the Life Star helicopter service to Hartford hospital.

The incident remains under investigation by members of the police department’s Accident Investigation Team.

The name of the operator is not being released at this time pending notification of all family members.
