Burglar Stole Car From Waterford Before Fleeing to Old Saybrook, Fire Officials Say
As of 11 p.m. June 25, the alleged burglar was still on the loose. People are asked to call 911 if they see anyone matching his description.

Police concluded a search of the immediate area and have been unable to locate the suspect who allegedly burglarized an Old Saybrook home and fled in a stolen vehicle, according to the Old Saybrook Fire Department's Facebook page.

The vehicle was reportedly stolen from Waterford, fire department personnel said, and crashed on Schoolhouse Road in Old Saybrook.
The suspect is described as a white male, 5'7", wearing a white tank top and leathery looking jeans. He reportedly has a laceration on his arm.

Residents are reminded to lock their doors and windows and call 911 if they see anyone matching the description of the suspect.
10:30 p.m.
Old Saybrook residents are urged to take shelter tonight as police believe there is a burglar on the loose, WTNH News 8 reports. It's unclear whether the suspect is armed as there are conflicting reports about that.
The Old Saybrook Fire Department says there is no evidence that the suspect is armed, but WTNH had reported the suspect was armed.
It's believed the suspect may be responsible for burglaries in the area, WTNH reports.
Residents are being told to keep away from the Town Park area. Police are looking in the area of School House Road, where the suspect may have crashed his vehicle and fled on foot, WTNH reports.
