The General Government’s 10 Highest Paid Employees

1. It should be sunny today, with a high of 42, according to the National Weather Service. It should be windy though as well, with 14 to 17 mph gusts expected throughout the day, according to the service.

2. Recently, Patch acquired a list of the ten highest paid town-side employees for the last full fiscal year, 2009-2010. This does not include any board of education employees, Patch will ask for that list next week. And this number is the total amount these people were paid, after overtime, not simply their base salaries. Without any further ado, here is the list:

1.  Jeff Nixon, police lieutenant – $128,047

2.  Murray Pendleton, police chief – $112,344

3.  Andre Parker, police sergeant - $109,693

6.  James Dimmock, police sergeant - $102,989

9.  Stephen Bellos, police sergeant - $98,720

10. Robert Yuchniuk, police officer -$98,091

3. The board of education will present its to the board of finance tonight at 7 p.m. in town hall. This will be the first time Superintendent will present the budget, after former superintendent did it 19 years in a row.

Some town officials have questioned the budget, saying there is room to cut more. Last full fiscal year, 2009-10, for example, the board of education returned over $500,000 to the general fund. Belair has said his budget is as tight as it can be; but will see how the board of finance deals with the new superintendent tonight.

4. Waterford drama is selling dinner tickets to Filomena’s for Tuesday for $25. The proceeds go to the Waterford Drama Scholarship Fund. To secure a ticket, call 860-437-1010.
