Daily Five: A New Year for Waterford

Five things to know for Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2013.

1. Today there is a slight chance of snow showers before 1, with a high around 36, according to the National Weather Service. Tonight should be partly cloudy, with a low around 17, according to the service.

2. Happy New Year's Day! As you would expect, much is closed. All non-essential government offices are closed, including Waterford Town Hall. There is no school today in Waterford either, although school will resume Wednesday after a seven-day break.

3. The Waterford Public Library is closed today. It will be open again Wednesday for its regular Wednesday hours, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.

4. The Crystal Mall will be open today, although different hours than usual. The mall will be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. today. Department store and restaurant hours may vary.
