2. From 5:30 to 8:30 tonight, the “” fundraiser will be held at Oswegatchie Elementary School. The fundraiser is for Madeline Guarraia, daughter of Matt and Amie Guarraia, both Waterford teachers. Madeline was recently diagnosed with leukemia. The event will feature fire truck rides, silent auctions, inflatable obstacle courses and more. On the event's Facebook page, more than 440 people committed to going to it.

People can park at Oswegatchie Elementary School for the event. Overflow parking is available at Oswegatchie Fire Company, with shuttle service.

3. Construction at (the former Septembers) has not yet begun, as no plans have been submitted to the building department yet. The bar was expected to be open by late August, owner Richard Camerlin said, although that now appears unlikely.

The bar, named Wow Sports Bar, is expected to be “like hooters, only classier,” according to a business model submitted by Camerlin to the town’s Planning and Zoning Commission. Camerlin got approval by the commission in .

4. Speaking of new developments, Kobyluck Brothers LLC has yet to resubmit its proposal to install a quarry at 28 Industrial Drive, according to the town’s building office. The company submitted an application to the Waterford Conservation Commission last year to install a quarry. At public hearings on the proposal in the fall, , pointing out Kobyluck’s issues in Salem and Montville and questioning the environmental impact on Jordan Brook. The company eventually withdrew the .

Company owner Matt Kobyluck said in a March interview he would resubmit the proposal “in a few months.” So far, nothing has been submitted, but Patch will let you know once something is.
