2. Thirty unionized carpenters surrounded the CVS pharmacy construction site in Norwich, demanding more local laborers be hired and higher wages, according to The Bulletin.

The spokesman of the group is Bob Corriveau of Waterford. Most of the laborers are from Massachusetts, and they should hire laborers from Eastern Connecticut, Corriveau said to The Bulletin.

3. has bought the building formerly occupied by Coastal Dentistry, across the street from the on Boston Post Road, according to a press release from owner Mark Grader. The jeweler is renovating the building, and plans to have the work done by February at the latest, according to the release.

Although Grader Jewlers has been in Waterford for 25 years, this is the first time the company will own the building it occupies, according to the release.
