Five Things To Know For Tuesday, March 20, 2012

2. Monday night, the Board of Finance cut $6,000 from the proposed Recreation and Parks Department budget.

The Recreation and Parks Department's budget came in lower than last year, but the program line had a $9,000 increase in it. The Board of Finance cut that increase by $6,000, so the program line now has a $3,000 increase.

Board members Cheryl Larder, J.W. “Bill” Sheehan, Ron Fedor and Alan Wilensky voted for the reduction, with Norman Glidden, Mark Wiggins and Anthony Jessuck voting against it.
