NRC Discovers Three Low-Level Violations at Millstone

The power plant has drafted a corrective action plan for all of the violations.

Written by Jayme Kunze

The Nuclear Regulatory Commission found three low-level violations at Millstone Power Station during its quarterly inspection, The Day reports.

According to The Day, the violations included:

  • Failing to report quickly enough to the NRC about a broken piece of monitoring equipment on the plant's stacks
  • Not modifying an equipment installation, allowing a valve to open
  • Not properly following a procedure to counteract hydrogen gas buildup in Unit 3
The violations have been fixed, and Millstone has written up a corrective action plan for all three issues, The Day reports.
