Design 2 Consign Hosts Fashionable Fundraiser In Waterford

Design 2 Consign in Waterford will be hosting its First Annual Fashion For A Cause event to benefit the CT Children’s Medical Center Neurology Unit on Saturday, November 9th at 7 p.m.. The Connecticut Children's Medical Center is dedicated to improving the physical and emotional health of children through family-centered care, research, education and advocacy. They embrace discovery, teamwork, integrity and excellence in all that they do.

“We were approached by Ann-Marie Andriola, a local mom, to put on a Fashion Show Fundraiser,” said Lacey Arndt, Owner of Design 2 Consign.  “This partnership is definitely a great fit for us and a part of our mission.  Strong community involvement is extremely important to us, we can only be as successful as our surrounding community.”

In addition to Design 2 Consign, other businesses have volunteered their time, energy and expertise for this wonderful cause. The Gallery Hair Design & Day Spa in New London, The Cake Lady in New London, Stott Pilates with Cathy Baker, VCA of New London, Tutto Family Hair Care in Montville, Montville Florists, and Chef Jaime Laurita.

“The only way to expand the Epilepsy Surgery program, at the CT Children’s Center, is to support the doctors with an expansion to the Neurology unit, and the only way to accomplish this is to raise funds,” said Ann-Marie Andriola.  “My child's quality of life changed substantially after this surgery for the better. I want all families to have access to services to help their child achieve the same. We hope to make a huge dent in this process with the Fashion for a cause event."

Event goers will enjoy seeing brands and designers such as, Chanel, Coach, Michael Kors, Cole Haan, and many more being showcased down the runway.  Fashion show stylings done by Tee Jay Woodhouse.  Tickets are $25 per person and include beverages, dessert, silent auction and fashion event.  The event will be held at Design 2 Consign, 131 Boston Post Road (in the Waterford Shopping Plaza across from Stop & Shop). Space is limited.
