Fundraising Poker Ride In Memory of Ryan Videll

The first annual Benefit Poker Run will be held August 17 as a fundraiser for Videll's family. Ryan Videll died in a motorcycle accident earlier this year.

On August 17, Ryan Videll's many friends will ride in his memory in the first annual Good Friends Good Times Ryan Videll Benefit Poker Run. Videll, who lived in Bozrah but grew up in Lyme and worked at Millstone Nuclear Power Plant in Waterford, died in a motorcycle accident in Lyme on April 28 at the age of 31.

All the money raised by this event will go to his wife of 10 years and the couple's two children, ages 5 and 8.

"Our hope is to bring together friends and family so they can honor Ryan for the friend, co-worker, family man, outdoorsman and Harley enthusiast he was, and assist a family stricken by grief," event organizers state on their web site.

The ride will begin, rain or shine, at Motorsports Nations, 20 Excalibur Blvd, in Plainfield, with open registration from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. Tickets are $20 per rider, $10 per passenger. Riders will leave at 15 minute intervals in groups of 10 to 15. Stops are as follows:
