I started writing for Patch in September 2011. I am a contributor for the New London Patch and Ledyard Patch. My interests include consumer news, business and government.
I am an Eastern Connecticut State University graduate with a B.S. degree in Communication and a concentration in Mass Media. I also have a B.A. degree in Political Science.  I have worked for several monthly, bi-weekly, and weekly publications throughout Connecticut writing news, features, enviornment, government, education, land use, and business stories. I also gained skills in photography, editing, layout, and adminstration. I interned at the Connecticut General Assembly and graduated from the Citizen's Police Academy at the Old Saybrook Police Department. I am a freelancer for the Yahoo Contributor Network and have an online writing portfolio showing my accomplishments which include being the first editor-in-chief of a multi-page marketing department newsletter and one of the first writers for the Montville Times, Putnam Villager, Woodstock Villager, and Thompson Villager. I was raised in Montville but am familar with many parts of Connecticut.  I have enjoyed writing and photography since I was a kid. I am a curious person and enjoy talking with people, researching, and writing so that others can understand the world around them. I like to take photos of people and interesting places.  I believe our society is better served when its citizens are well-informed. I believe in the First Amendment and its ability to protect our freedom of speech. I believe the Internet is a true marketplace of ideas.
