I was born at Lawrence Memorial Hospital on Christmas Day 1980 at 545am. My mother was 18. My young father disappeared forever before I was born. My mother attended college far from home in Hartford while raising me by herself. In second grade we moved to East Lyme CT. Domestic violence, poverty, and alcoholism fill my childhood memories. I have two wonderful younger brothers and had briefly an awesome stepfather. As a teenager I became a runaway, a drug user, and a general delinquent. Out of control in danger of dropping out of school my mother sent me to live in Florida with my grandmother. At 16, I ran away from there, panhandling, hopped trains, hitch-hiked, and lived out my hobo fantasy all over the south. Most importantly I attended my first shows and found punk rock. Then I was picked up and pushed through East Lyme High School to graduate, to the credit of their teaching staff. All the while attending punk rock shows and really having an understanding bigger than myself and group of friends. There was a huge world out there and I wanted to learn everything about it. I found myself finding comfort in playing music with my best friends in a punk band called Under Investigation. Then another band Stressbomb. Between those two bands my vocals and guitarwork have been recorded on four albums and dozens of single demos. I became involved in show promotion, then touring, and then booking full time. I was hooked on touring and it cleaned up my act considerably. I was married, had a full time job as a store manager, and a baby boy. I started my own booking agency. I toured other continents. Through NANOWRIMO I also discovered writing, and aspired to be a published author one day. Then I went through unemployment, financial hardships, and made many bad personal decisions which ultimately ended in divorce. It was at this point in my life I decided to quit music for awhile and focus on myself and the future of my child. Along with my new girlfriend-to-become-wife Gina, we embarked on a quest to open a bookstore in downtown New London. I love books. I have been reading my whole life, mostly nonfiction.  In the middle of this entrepreneurial crusade I discovered my love for New London and an awareness of the kindness of its people. After so many trips in the tour van it became the only place that ever felt like home. I now have a beautiful baby boy, an incredible wife, a five year old Einstein and my bookshop. I live in Waterford but most consider me an honorary New Londoner.
