Back to School and Summer's Last Hurrah

1. What's the Weather? We can expect scattered thunderstorms today, with the chance of rain increasing from 30 percent to 50 percent this evening, according to Weather.com. Today's high temperature should top out at about 76 degrees with an overnight low of 67 degrees. There's also a high pollen alert, so don't forget to take your allergy medication today.

2. Back to School!

3. Municipal Meetings
  • Monday: Planning and Zoning meets tonight at Waterford Town Hall at 7 p.m.
  • Tuesday: Senior Citizens Commission meets at 4 p.m. at the Senior Center; Recreation and Parks meets at 5 p.m. at the Waterford Community Center.
4. The final concert of the summer season this Wednesday at Waterford Beach Park brings the Caribbean close to home with Steel Dream, steel drums and percussion, at 6 p.m., weather permitting.

5. Be Careful on the Roads. Now that school is starting, keep an eye out for kids waiting by the roadside for school buses. Be aware too, that Waterford Police will be beefing up DUI patrols before and during the coming Labor Day Weekend.
