Still Time to Sign Up to Walk TBBCF Walk Across SECT October 5

Have you been thinking about walking in the Terri Brodeur Breast Cancer Walk Across Southeastern CT? Perhaps you're thinking 26.2 miles is just too far to walk. How about 13.1 miles or 6.55 miles? Those are quite doable. There is still time to sign up to walk, or join an existing team AND you can even sign up the day of the Walk.

The TBBCF Walk offers a full marathon (26.2 miles with a $500 fundraising commitment) starting at Saybrook Point, Old Saybrook, CT with an opening ceremony at 6:30 a.m. and feet on the pavement at 7:00 a.m.  Miss L from Jammin 107.7 will be broadcasting from opening ceremonies and interviewing walkers and volunteers.

The half marathon (13.1 miles with a $250 fundraising commitment) starts at 8 Capital Drive, East Lyme at 10:00 a.m., and the quarter marathon (6.55 miles with a $200 fundraising commitment) starts at 1:00 p.m. at the Niantic Baptist Church, 443 Main St., Niantic. All walks end at Camp Harkness, Waterford, where the Sue Menhart Band will entertain and there will be soup, bread, ice cream, apples, and cider for all. Join us for closing ceremonies at 3:30 p.m.  It's a great family day.

You can register at www.tbbcf.org with a $25 registration fee. 100% of gross fundraising dollars goes directly to breast cancer research, and the Foundation has raised $2.4 million in the last seven years. Won't you join the fight against breast cancer in honor of someone who is struggling with this dreadful disease or in memory of someone who lost the fight?
