Dive On In—The Water's Fine!

All beaches are open for the holiday weekend. The Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection has given all state beaches, including Rocky Neck State Park, and state park lakes and ponds a clean bill of health. 

Ledge Light Health District, which closed the East beach at Rocky Neck following heavy rains earlier this week, reports that resampling of water showed bacteria levels were no longer a concern. 

All shellfish areas in Waterford, East Lyme, and Groton are now open.
