Waterford High’s Soccer Stays, Football Gets Hot

Waterford High School girl’s soccer team is undefeated.

The temperatures might be dropping, but Waterford High School is heating up, as many of the school’s sports teams are on winning streaks – including one unbeaten streak that has lasted all season.

Take Waterford High School’s football team for example. After losing their first two games on the road, the team has won its last two at home – including a 27-14 victory over Bacon Academy on Friday. The team plays New London and Montville at home the next two Fridays to try to keep its winning streak alive.

Both soccer teams continued their strong seasons as well. Last Thursday, the high school boys’ team defeated Wheeler, 4-0, to bring their record to 7-2. And the girls team remained undefeated after beating Woodstock, Stonington and Lyman Memorial in the past seven days to bring their record to 7-0-2.

And there was finally an update on the Waterford High School field hockey team on the CIAC website. The team has enjoyed a strong season with victories over Stonington, East Lyme and Killingly, and has a 5-3 record.
