The Waterford High School boys’ basketball team had a hot week this week, winning two games over neighboring towns.
The team defeated Montville in Montville on Friday, 78-40, and on Tuesday the Lancers defeated archrival East Lyme, 64-57, at home. The team is now 8-4 as it tries to defend its first state championship from last year. The team’s next game is at 5:30 at home on Thursday against Windham, who they lost to in Windham on December 14th, 68-41.
The girls’ team meanwhile continues to suffer through a tough season. The last update by the CIAC showed the team losing to New London, 52-35. The team is now 2-10 and is on a six-game losing streak, as of the last CIAC update.
