Waterford's 15-year-old all-star team lost twice Wednesday, 8-6 and 9-0, to Pittsfield, MA to lose out on their chance at the New England title. If Waterford would have won either game, they would have captured the title and earned a spot in the Babe Ruth World Series in Arkansas.
Waterford was previously undefeated in the double-elimination tournament. Pittsfield had already lost one time, so they had to beat Waterford twice to win the title - and they did.
The loss ends a phenomenal run by a group of kids who won the and the state championship .
