Waterford Boys' Tennis Team Stays Undefeated

The spring sports season continued this week, and the high school teams continued the dominance and tradition that is Waterford baseball and softball.

The Waterford High School Baseball Team last Wednesday defeated rival East Lyme, 6-2, lost to New Canaan on the road Saturday, 8-2, and came back to defeat Bacon Academy at home on Monday, 8-3. The team is now 3-1.

The Waterford Softball Team played just one game this week, crushing rival East Lyme in East Lyme last Thursday, 17-2. The lady Lancers remain undefeated at 4-0.

In the world of lacrosse, the Waterford High School boys’ team lost to Ledyard at Ledyard on Tuesday, dropping their record to 2-2. In that game, Casey Sullivan became the first Waterford boys’ lacrosse player to score 100 career points, according to The Bulletin. The girls team meanwhile lost to Immaculate High School at Immaculate last Thursday, but beat Ledyard Tuesday, 12-11, to bring their record to 2-3.

The Waterford High School boys’ tennis team stayed undefeated this week, defeating Woodstock Academy 6-1 last Wednesday and beating Ledyard 5-2 on Monday. Results for the girls’ team was not yet updated on the CIAC website.
