Students Learn From CL&P Lineman On How To Be Safe Near Power Lines

Tuesday, fourth-grade students at sat through a class about electrical safety by Connecticut Light & Power Lineman Eric Farnsworth.

Farnsworth encouraged students to be "safe, not sorry," and avoid power lines. He also showed them the many layers of protective clothing a lineman wears before getting close to a wire.

The class was part of CL&P's electrical safety program that reaches approximately 31,000 students at 500 schools each year, according to a company press release. Farnsworth visited every fourth-and-fifth grade class at Great Neck School.
