Belair, Weston Face Suit Over Assault

Family Saying Weston School District Did Not Do Enough When Belair Was Superintendent

A Weston family is suing several Weston administrators, including former Weston superintendent and current Waterford superintendent Jerome Belair, arguing the school district did not do enough to protect their child from being assaulted, according to The Daily Weston.

In the suit, an 11-year-old Weston student was thrown against a concrete cinder block wall by another student during the school day, according to The Daily Weston. This resulted in the 11-year-old to suffer migraine headaches and post-concussive syndrome, and the family is now suing, according to The Daily Weston.

The suit claims the Weston school system “failed to maintain adequate security, policies, procedure and rules” and that it failed to provide a safe environment for the child, failed to properly supervise the children and failed to “impose proper supervision” over the classmate, according The Daily Weston.
