Obama: Where is my Teleprompter?

A review of the first Presidential debate between Mitt Romney and Barack Obama.

Of all the meetings that President Obama misses, I bet this was one that he wished he had skipped. I can just imagine the little doodles he was drawing as he was ignoring eye contact with Mitt Romney.

"Where is my teleprompter?"  "At least I'm eye candy for the millions of people watching"  "Wonder if I can just close my eyes and maybe they won't see me standing here" "I hear Denver has great golf courses"" "Has it been 90 minutes yet?" "Glad I didn't DVR this!"

Romney looked like a Commander in Chief. He spoke like a President and he was obviously very knowledgeable of our country's economic situation and what Obama has done to damage it even worse than 4 years ago.

I don't think Obama heard a word Romney said last night. He had a set list of talking points that he has used on the campaign trail and for the first time his rhetoric was challenged. He didn't have his media lambs there to ask the soft questions. Instead he was held to the fire. He even suggested at one point, moving on to another subject!

Now of course, immediately after the debate, you have Stephanie Cutter, as well as others on the left, blaming Jim Lehrer for the beat down. "He didn't moderate. They allowed Romney to moderate it". Boloney! Obama cowered down.

And shock of all shocks, you had Chris Matthews blasting him for his performance. Yes! "I get a shiver up my leg" Chris Matthews. Chris even advised Obama to watch his show and he would learn something. Are you kidding me? He has to watch a show to see what is happening in the world. That says something right there.

Not that the Obama team will ever take notice, but Romney explained a majority of his plans for the economy.  But the liberals don't hear it. Obama didn't give us anything new. He did give smirks, stammering, checking his watch and obvious frustration at having his failures so profoundly displayed on national TV. Where is David Letterman when you need him?

Romney's experience as a business man is what this economy needs. Not another fours years of a golfing, professional talk show guest.

It was very evident last night that Obama has no clue. He knows nothing about economics. He is totally out of touch with what "President of the United States" means. He is in love with the title, but not the responsibilities that comes with it.

I am very cautious at getting overly excited about what this means for the election, given the tactics of Obama's campaign, but I would guess that many undecided last night became decided. And that is good for Romney.

I can't wait until foreign policy is the topic. With recent events, this should be interesting. But then, they have only been bumps in the road, haven't they?

Oh, Happy Anniversary.
