Not everyone is a fan of Gov. Dannel P. Malloy’s fiscal policies, as one think tank recenly gave the governor a flunking grade in that category. But when it comes to Malloy’s policies on marijuana, Rolling Stone Magazine gave ample praise.
Malloy was named in a top-ten list of pro-marijuana politicians, joining U.S. Rep. Barney Frank of Massachusetts, Vermont Gov. Peter Shumlin and former presidential candidate U.S. Rep. Ron Paul of Texas.
Last year, Connecticut's governor signed a marijuana decriminalization bill into law. Instead of facing a $1,000 fine and possible jail time, marijuana offenders now must pay $150 for their first offense and between $200 and $500 for subsequent violations. This spring, Malloy also signed a new law making Connecticut the country's 17th state to legalize medical marijuana. (As his opponents often point out, Connecticut's governor has a personal stake in marijuana policy reform: His son, now in his twenties, has had multiple legal run-ins allegedly involving marijuana.)
Malloy signed the medical marijuana bill into law in June, and it just went into effect on Oct. 1.
“With careful regulation and safeguards, this law will allow a doctor and a patient to decide what is in that patient’s best interest,” Malloy said after passing the bill.
To be named the 50th worst state in the union for a business climate by both Forbes and Fortune magazine shoud be a disgrace to every CT citizen, and if CT were a normal state that cared about jobs recall proceedings against this tax and spend liberal would have started 12 months ago. To be recognized by Rolling Stones magazine as a leader in the pot culture is the biggest achievement of this governor to date. Right before this accolade Molloy was recognized for his 500 million to 1 billion dollar" bullet train" to no where initiative, his no lay off policy for life for CT State workers in exchange for his 350 million dollar State Union "Suggestion Box" lunacy, and his 300 million dollar gift to Jackson Labs where he has already counted 10 jobs this week being created 2 years before Jackson Labs has even started construction. Possible CT under Molloy can cultivate pot as part of his jobs program. Molloy has promised 13,000 jobs for the" bullet train" between New Haven and Springfield and if a few cargo cars are added to the train it can be used to export pot and our college graduates to quicly (at bullet speed) other states.
The Democratic machine is destroying Connecticut but still the voters are silent - Connecticut is lost!
