Ritter: State Considering Reviving $335 Million Dominion Tax
Nothing Official Yet, But There Have Been "Rumblings," Ritter said
Wednesday, at Waterford’s State of the Town address in , state Rep. Betsy Ritter had a warning for residents.
There are "rumblings" by some state representatives to bring back the so-called “” on Millstone, Ritter said. So far, nothing has been formal, but there is talk of bringing it back, she said.
“We are going to be out in front of this, big time,” First Selectman Dan Steward said. “That would be absolutely unacceptable in my mind.”

Ritter, Steward, state Sen. Andrea Stillman and School Superintendent Jerome Belair, along with Dominion officials, went to Hartford to protest the bill. Eventually, it was dropped.
This year, there are rumblings it is being considered again, Ritter said. If so, Ritter said she is willing to put on “the full court press” to ensure it doesn’t pass.
Last year, , Ritter said. So far, to her knowledge, that hasn’t changed, she said.
“Hopefully if this does come up, we can catch it early,” Ritter said. “And it will be something that will suffer an early death, so to speak.”
