Yuchniuk Responds To Delay In Animal Shelter Funding

Although At Least Four Years Away, The Goal Is To Stay Positive, ACO Said In Public Letter

Editor’s Note: Here is a letter sent directly to Patch by Animal Control Officer Robert Yuchniuk.

Paul,

Although the news in is a disappointing, I refuse to give up hope. I am a positive person by nature and I want everyone to remain POSITIVE. Please know that I will continue to serve the people and animals of our Waterford and East Lyme to the best of my ability. And I will continue to donate many hours of my own time to fundraising efforts. I love animals, and I love my job, and today's events have not dampened my spirits at all.

I still have a dedicated network of volunteers and supporters and we will continue to raise funds, which are STILL being put into a dedicated account that no one else can touch. Think how much we can do in a few years!  We have many new and creative ideas to raise money, the latest of which is to sell T-shirts (pictured). They are 100% pre-shrunk cotton, full-color supporter shirts, available for a tax deductible donation of only $22.00. Interested people should stop by the animal shelter to pick one up. Checks can be made payable to the Town of Waterford. They are available now while supplies last.

The animals need us now, let us rise to their calling and double our efforts to help. As the T-shirts say, we are speaking for those who have no voice.
