It was a “weird night” for 18-year-old Lilly Comfort.
Comfort was sitting at her home at 192 Rope Ferry Road, relaxing, when suddenly the house shook. She went outside and there was a car, with its woman driver apologizing for hitting the house.
“She said she just lost control of the car,” Comfort said. “Like it started accelerating without her control.”
The woman, driving southwest on Rope Ferry Road, drove off the side of the road, through the driveway at 192 Rope Ferry Road and into the house. Comfort was alone at the time, but lives with her mother. They rent the house, as Comfort said she told the landlord about the accident.
The car made a dent into the siding of the house, but it did not go through the wall. The female driver was not injured, according to Waterford Police.
Police said the woman would most likely not be arrested.
