Why Didn't The Chickens Cross The Road?

Because they were left locked in a pet carrier at the end of Miner Lane in Waterford

Waterford Police rescued two chickens that appeared to have been abandoned in a pet carrier. The carrier was left by the side of the road at the end of Miner Lane. They are now at the Waterford-East Lyme Animal Shelter, and a number of people have come forward who may be willing to take them.

Waterford Animal Control Officer Robert Yuchniuk, however, would like to know how they got there. If you have any information, please let him know

If you're in a fowl mood, three friendly ducks are also looking for a home. In another posting on the Waterford-East Lyme Animal Control's Facebook page, a local resident said she is hoping to find a good home for her three pet ducks. She has to give them up because she is moving to a new place that doesn't allow ducks. (And I bet that's the first time the landlord ever had anyone ask about that.)
