Let's hope that every person who saw, suspected or suffered clergy sex crimes and misdeeds by Father Dennis Carey will find the courage and strength to speak up, call police, expose wrongdoing, protect kids and start healing. Judy Jones, SNAP Midwest Associate Director, USA, 636-433-2511. snapjudy@gmail.com, (SNAP, the Survivors Network of those Abused by Priests,) is the worlds oldest and largest support group for clergy abuse victims. SNAP was founded in 1988 and has more than 12,000 members. Despite the word priest in our title, we have members who were molested by religious figures of all denominations, including nuns, rabbis, bishops, and Protestant ministers and increasingly, victims who were assaulted in a wide range of institutional settings like summer camps, athletic programs, Boy Scouts, etc.

Maybe the Church whould stop worrying about birth control issues and start doing something about the priests whp take advantage of our children. Our bishops are sick.

this is really heartbreaking, i cannot believe how many stories of child porn, molestation, etc i have read, now this is in my back yard, the more i read about priests, pastors, etc. in church committing these child crimes, i have thought to myself, "no wonder they go into the church" what better way to have a child trust you, you are a man of God, when the real story is you are a man of the devil, what really gets to me is when a man of the cloth is caught the roman church moves them asap to an unkown church, WHY, they need to be held accountable for what they did not sweep it under the rug, moving them just gives them fresh victims, you should be ashamed of yourselves, turn them over to the police and let our justice system work, how do you explain to a child of abuse from a man of cloth that he has been moved, sorry sweetie, BULL, why are you protecting these molester, monsters, over the years there have been so many men of the cloth moved to another country i have lost count and how many more victims have they gotten, why are you so willing to ruin so many childrens lives just for the sake of the church? if they are caught they need to be arrested and brought to justice, children need closure too.

Father Dennis Carey is innocent until proven guilty.

Why did he resign? If he was not guilty, he would have either stayed or asked for a leave of absence until the investigation was complete. I have no facts to back it up, but I will bet that priests have a higher percentage incidence of child molestation/ child porn than the rest of the population.

Could it be a long overdue investigation due to his intervening to help a child in his parish that dcf failed on? with hold judgement until investigators do a thorough job. also it could be political thing due to his interceding in the case?

Father Carey is innocent until proven guilty and the article never states he touched a child. All it mentioned was a computer. Please dont make your own news stories people. And the reason he would step down as pastor to the church immediately would be to protect those who go to the church from the press. Father is a friend of mine. We all fall from Grace. Look inside yourself before you cast stones at someone else. Until proven guilty, he is innocent in the eyes of the law. Father is an advocate of many good things. Easy people.

He is a pretty outspoken man... and not afraid to speak his mind... who knows... I will support him until I have a reason not to... : )

I agree, I think it could have something to do with a failed DCF case, and we will not know until investigators do their job, honestly I pray. Again, when he reached out to DCF head, he was told to butt out. Could this be game playing, retribution? Or possibly some agency finally took the case to heart and might be asking for his records on it?

"And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues. For her sins have reached unto heaven, and God hath remembered her iniquities."-Revelation 18:4 The "her" referred to here is a church. The warning is to get out as fast as you can. These churches-all of them-are full of lustful people. This not against the Catholic church but against all churches. The true church is in God's word the Bible.
