Waterford Police Increase DUI Patrols for Labor Day Weekend

Waterford Police will have additional officers on patrol from 5 p.m. to 4 a.m. in an effort to deter drunk driving over the holiday weekend.

The Waterford Police Department is joining thousands of law enforcement agencies in a nationwide crackdown on driving under the influence violators through the upcoming Labor Day Holiday period.  Waterford Police Department will assign two or three additional Officers on patrol during the week and after Labor Day. These additional Officers will specifically target DUI Enforcement between the hours of 5:00 p.m. and 4:00 a.m.  Speeding and other motor vehicle violations will also be strictly enforced. 

Waterford Police issued 30 Citations/Arrests, which included including 2 DUI/Drug Possession Arrests during its previous July 4th Holiday crackdown and hopes the Department’s continuing efforts to “Enforce and Inform” will have a residual positive impact on its citizens’ voluntarily participation in safer, more responsible operation of their motor vehicles, during this upcoming holiday weekend.
