Traffic Alert: Motorcycle Gift Run May Cause Congestion

The annual gift run starts at 1 p.m. at the Waterford Speedbowl and ends at Camp Harkness at around 2 p.m. Expect to see many motorcycles on the road Sunday.

The Waterford Police Department is providing the following traffic advisory to the residents of Waterford, as well as area citizens traveling through Waterford on Sunday, November 3, 2013.

On Sunday, November 3, 2013, commencing at 1 p.m., a charity motorcycle “Gift Run” will be traveling from the Waterford Speedbowl, south on Route 85, south on Cross Road, east on Route 1, and then south on Route 213 to its ending location, Camp Harkness at approximately 2 p.m.

There may be some traffic congestion in the area of the Speedbowl while participants prepare for the run, as well as brief delays while the event procession occurs. Police and road safety personnel will be monitoring traffic.

Citizens are requested to exercise caution while traveling the area, as well as they may wish to seek alternate routes during the event.  Questions regarding this advisory may be referred to the department’s Traffic Officer, or the Patrol Supervisor at 860-442-9451.
