The Grinch That Stole Christmas In Waterford

Thieves are raiding mail boxes looking for holiday cards that may contain money.

You've got mail—go collect it! Waterford Police report that mail is being stolen from people's mail boxes and the main target seems to be holiday cards, presumably because thieves are looking for cash, gift cards or cheques.

Police have received reports of mail being taken from mail boxes in the areas of Shore Road, Quarry Road, and Seabreeze Drive in Waterford, with additional reports coming in about stolen mail in Quaker Hill. Police advise residents to bring in mail as soon as possible and avoid leaving it overnight.

The photo, which was provided by Waterford Police Department, shows mail dropped into a storm drain recently. If you see anything suspicious, please contact the police department at 860-442-9451, or emails lbonkowski@waterfordct.org.
