Meet Lucky (the dog pictured to the right).
In reality, nobody is quite sure what Lucky’s real name is. Waterford-East Lyme Animal Control Officer Robert Yuchniuk gave him that name because he is lucky to be alive.
On Friday morning, workers found Lucky, a pit bull, tied to a tree at the in Quaker Hill. He had a serious skin allergy from fleas, to the point he had scratched most of the hair off the lower part of his body.
Yuchniuk brought Lucky to the , and is actively searching for Lucky’s owner. Meanwhile, he managed to get money donated from friends off of his Facebook page for Lucky to get his skin allergy treated at Goodfriends Veterinary Hospital in East Lyme.
Lucky, once he recovers, will be back the animal shelter. Go down and check him out, maybe make him part of your family. And if you do know his owner, call Yuchniuk at 860-442-9451 (it is the police line, ask for animal control).
