A duo ends up with matching drunk driving charges after one man drives to pick up the other from state police barracks, police said.

Better Call for Another Ride

The case: Police charged an Ashford man with driving under the influence, police report.

The twist: 
The man had driven to Troop C in Tolland in order to pick up another individual who had also been arrested for drunk driving, police said. 

Cab Ride to Court

The case: 
Police in Vernon charged a Hartford man with sixth-degree larceny and possession of marijuana, police report.

The twist: 
The man was charged after being caught with an empty wallet when trying to pay for his cab ride to town, police said. He only had a third of the fare on him, according to police. However, officers did find that he had marijuana in his possession, police report.


Try Not to Act Suspicious

The case: Police charged a Meriden man with interfering with police, reckless endangerment, criminal liability for the acts of another, conspiracy to commit unlawful restraint, conspiracy to distribute narcotics, evading responsibility, reckless driving, operating a motor vehicle without a license, failure to insure motor vehicle and failure to renew registration, police report.

The twist: The Meriden man was charged after he tipped off another suspect that police were surveying the area during an alleged drug deal, creating chaos, police said. After learning about the police presence, the second suspect drove off in his car, even as his two female passengers tried to exit the car, police said. 

Robber Holds Up CVS with Machete

The case: Middletown police are searching for a suspect who robbed the Main Street Extension CVS on May 10, police said.

The twist: The man was armed with a machete when he entered the store, demanded money and then fled on foot, police report.

Don't Touch the Artwork

The case: Police charged a Massachusetts man with first-degree criminal mischief, police report.

The twist: The man was trying to touch a glass sculpture at the Mohegan Sun Casino when he fell over the railing and into the five-ton work of art, police said.
