Police: High-Speed Chase With Waterford Cop Leads To Groton Crash

A high-speed chase that began on Rt. 32 in Quaker Hill this morning ended with a car in the woods in Groton.

A high-speed chase that began in Waterford this morning ended with a car in the woods in Groton and a person in the hospital with serious injuries.

At around 3:15 this morning, a Waterford Police patrol car engaged in pursuit with an "erratic operator" on Rt. 32 in Quaker Hill, according to a Waterford Police Department press release. The chase ended when the car exited off I-95's Exit 85, with police officers losing sight of the car, according to the release.

However, another responding officer found the vehicle had crashed into the woods in Groton, and the driver of the vehicle sustained serious injuries as a result of the crash, according to police. The Connecticut State Police have since taken over the investigation, according to the release.
