Man Steals Baby Formula from Waterford Walmart: Police

Waterford police are looking for a man suspected of stealing eight Enfamil baby formula containers and walking out the general merchandise exit at Walmart on June 30, at approximately 7:30 p.m.

That's the second time an alleged larceny occurred at Walmart on June 30. Police are seeking two suspects wanted for questioning in another alleged larceny.

"People steal Enfamil because it sells well, not to feed their infants," the Waterford Police Department noted on its Facebook page, in response to a statement from a reader who said, "He stole enfamil. Formula for an infant to eat. An infant."

Police continued:

"It can also be used as a cutting agent for narcotics. We're not heartless, nor is the Walmart manager. We've let people go who are stealing cause they're in dire straits and referred them to social services for help."

Police said he got into a 2003 tan Buick Century with CT registration 841-ZUK. Anyone with information may contact Officer Surdo at 860-442-9451.
