UPDATED: Fatal Accident On I-395 In Waterford

Driver Under The Influence, Police Said

The driver of a car involved in a fatal two-car accident late last night between exits 77 and 78 on Interstate 395 was arrested on the scene and charged with driving while intoxicated, possession of marijuana and possession of narcotics, according to the state police report.

The report said that Dina Senibaldi, 26, of Everett, Mass., was driving southbound on I-395 in a rental car when she struck the car in front of her. She refused medical treatment but her passenger, Marirose Lynch, 25, also of Everett was transported by Quaker Hill Ambulance to Lawrence & Memorial Hospital for a minor laceration to the forehead.

Edmund L. Davis, 52, of New Haven was driving the car that was hit, and Lisa Delprete, 45, of North Haven was in the passenger seat. Davis lost control of the vehicle and collided with the guardrail, the car came to a rest on the passenger side, according to the report.

Davis was transported to Lawrence & Memorial Memorial for "serious" head and chest injuries by Oswegatchie Ambulance, said the report, and Delprete was transported by Cohanzie Ambulance to L&M for head injuries and was later pronounced dead.

Davis has since been transported to Yale New Haven Hospital, due to the severity of his injuries, and is listed in critical condition, according to a state police officer.

Senibaldi was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated, possession of marijuana and possession of narcotics and is being held for arraignment on a 100,000 bond. Senibaldi is scheduled to appear in GA 10 in New London on Monday, April 11, according to the state police report

The accident was reported just past 11 p.m., according to the DOT. Responders called for at least one person to be transported by LIFESTAR helicopter service, although it was too cloudy for the helicopter to fly, according to police communication.
