Fundraising Success for the Kelsey S. Harrington Foundation!

Friends of the Kelsey S. Harrington Foundation came out last night, Saturday, March 29, 2014, to support the foundation’s annual fundraising event.  This year’s event had an Italian theme and it was titled Celebrazione.

St. Sophia Hellenic Center, New London, Connecticut was the perfect venue to accommodate over 250 friends, neighbors and supporters of the Waterford based foundation. The evening began with hors-d'oeuvres, complimentary beer, wine, limoncello and orangecello along with Italian classic entertainment that added to the Celebrazione. A delicious dinner was catered by the Recovery Room Restaurant and served buffet style to the guests.  Dinner was followed by large assortments of Italian pastries, along with several dozen delectable cupcakes, made by Waterford High School Juniors Grifin Beaney and Carley Peltier.  The foundation received numerous donations to create basket raffles and hold a highly competitive silent auction. Supporter Glen Peltier cohosted as Master of Ceremony along with local radio personality Teresa Berry of the Wake-Up Show weekday mornings on Soft Rock 106.5 WBMW! The band Meleana provided the musical entertainment and rocked the house with plethora of music!

The Kelsey S. Harrington Foundation was born to celebrate Kelsey’s life. In her spirit, it is the foundations goal to help other children and families on their journeys.  Kelsey's story gives us all hope and faith in the promise of science combined with the love, faith and persistence of the special needs community.

The positive impact on these children and their families would not be possible without the support of friends of Kelsey S. Harrington and the southeastern Connecticut community at large.   Thank you to all that donated, helped and joined the foundation last night to make the Celebrazione a huge success!
