It's All About New London!

New London Irish Parade day.

On Wednesday night the committee sampled "corned beef and mustard" pizza from . Now, you might be saying to yourselves "what kind of pizza is that?" But let me tell you this- it is delicious! And so will the many other unique dishes being served by the great restaurants, bars and pubs we have here in New London on St. Patrick's Day before, during and after the parade.

When the parade committee goes around town to talk to the local merchants about the upcoming parade we try to include everyone in the parade. The more the merrier is our motto. That is why we were so happy that Kim Pettey at agreed to , and Rita Rivera from Little Print agree to design our parade program, and Tony from agree to design our parade bracelet bead. We want to shed a positive spotlight on all that New London has to offer.

Last year when our parade went from 15 minutes to 1 1/2 hours we were so happy that we heard that most restaurants and bars will filled with parade spectators long into the night. This year we hope that the parade spectators will come early and tour the Coast Guard ships that will be down at the New London waterfront, shop at our great little shops, watch the parade and then stay in New London to eat, drink and be merry in New London for many, many hours afterwards.  For the members of the New London Irish Parade our goal in addition to putting on a first class parade IS to bring people in to New London to showcase our city.

So, when you see our Shamrocks going down on the parade route, remember that we are thinking about all the shops, restaurants, bars and pubs and how we hope that will be as happy parade day as we are! Slainte!

I really miss New London and all the small shops, cafe's, talking to people on the street, and the hometown atmosphere. For some of you newbies, chill out and enjoy life without the rude rhetoric. You live in a great area.

People really need to explore all the little shops in the city there are many hidden or easy to miss little shops and places of interest in New London, I hope the parade this year can put out a map of the parade route for everyone to see,
