With this beautiful weather we would like to remind everyone and especially parents of children under 19 years of age, that it is a law that children wear bike helmets when riding their bikes. Also it is a good idea for children to have helmets on when skateboarding, riding scooters, Rollerblade and skating.
I have seen too many of my neighbors going out riding without their helmets. I am going to become the witch of the neighborhood as I stop the kids and ask where is your helmet? Just last week an 8 year old flipped over the handlebars of their bike in Danbury and died. I don't want to see my friends go through that.
Parents start them as babies and get them used to wearing their helmets and it will become second nature as they grow up, just like seat belts, how we all complained and now, it is automatic. PLEASE put on the helmet.
