Waterford Walks For Breast Cancer

The big event of the weekend was the Annual Terri Brodeur Breast Cancer Foundation's walk across southeastern Connecticut. The 26.2 mile walk started early Saturday morning in Old Saybrook and ended at Harkness State Park in Waterford, with half and quarter marathons starting in East Lyme and Niantic respectively.

Many local people have been training for months to work up to the marathon walk, and there were lots of people on hand to help along the way, providing refreshments, offer encouragement, and providing music and massages at the end of the walk. Waterford Police were on hand to direct traffic. In the end, the big winner was the Terri Brodeur Breast Cancer Foundation and the many, many people it aims to help.

You'll find photos, such as the one posted here, plus people's reactions to the walk posted on the TBBCF Facebook Page.
