Winter Weather Advisory In Effect Tonight

Advisory In Effect From 1 to 4 a.m.

A winter weather advisory is in effect from 1 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday for New Haven, Middlesex, and New London counties, along with parts of New York, the National Weather Service said.

"The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisor for snow ... accumulations could be four to six inches of snow," the NWS said. [Planning to shovel it yourself? ]

The NWS said temperatures could drop into the teens Friday night, and rise to near freezing along the coast Saturday afternoon, and to 25 to 30 inland. Visibility could drop from snowfall Saturday morning, the NWS said.

"Impacts will include travel difficulties due to snow covered roads and limited visibilities ... use caution while driving," the NWS said. "Freezing will create conditions on area roads. Patchy black ice is also likely."

Saturday: Snow, mainly before 4pm. High near 32. East wind between 6 and 9 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New snow accumulation of 3 to 5 inches possible.

Saturday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 17. North wind between 8 and 13 mph.
