2. This Week In Weather: The weather seems to be following a similar pattern: rain in the middle of the week, with sunny days on either end.

Today and tomorrow should be mostly sunny, with highs around 55. Then, rain is expected Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, with highs of 51, 45 and 43, respectively. Friday and Saturday, it should be sunny again, with highs of 43.

3. This Week In Schools: There will be early dismissals this week for parent-teacher conferences on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday at all Waterford public schools.

And on Friday, third graders will go to the Garde Arts Theatre for a “The Nutcracker.”

4. This Week In Events: Tuesday is the   by the Lions Club. Patch watched the Recreation and Parks Department decorate the tree Friday, and it looks really good.

5. This Week In Government: This week is somewhat busy in government, especially on Monday.

On Monday, the new Representative Town Meeting will meet for the first time, The first item on the agenda is to vote a new moderator, likely to be a Republican as Republicans now have a 12-10 majority on the board. The current moderator is Democrat Sharon Palmer.

Also Monday, the Planning and Zoning Commission is holding a public hearing on new zoning regulations to further limit the processing of stone. This has become an issue after many neighbors have protested the construction of a rock processing plant at 28 Industrial Drive.

The rest of the week is slower, with the Board of Selectmen meeting Tuesday night and the meeting Thursday.
