The National Weather Service is predicting Waterford’s first snowfall of the season Tuesday, saying a snow-and-rain mixture is likely in the morning, with snow possible at night.

The service predicts rain and snow Tuesday morning, which will turn to rain by 1 p.m. Snow is also possible Tuesday night into Wednesday morning, although little accumulation is expected, according to the service.

Waterford has already lost a week of school because of Superstorm Sandy. Patch will post school delays or closings as soon as they happen, if they happen.

Today: Mostly sunny, with a high near 47. West wind 10 to 14 mph.

Tonight: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 28. Northwest wind 5 to 7 mph becoming calm after midnight.

Tuesday: Rain and snow, becoming all rain after 1pm. High near 38. Calm wind becoming north around 6 mph in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 80%. Little or no snow accumulation expected.

Tuesday Night: Rain and snow likely before 10pm, then a slight chance of snow between 10pm and 4am. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 29. North wind around 8 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. Little or no snow accumulation expected.

Wednesday: Partly sunny, with a high near 38. Northwest wind 8 to 10 mph.

Wednesday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 28.

Thursday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 40.

Thursday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 26.
