The Waterford School District has cancelled school Friday because of the impending snowstorm.

The National Weather Service is predicting snow to begin tonight and intensify Friday. The full forecast from the service is as follows:

Tonight: A chance of snow after 3 a.m. Cloudy, with a low around 22. East wind 7 to 15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40%.

Friday: Snow. The snow could be heavy at times. High near 37. Breezy, with a northeast wind 16 to 25 mph, with gusts as high as 45 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100 percent. New snow accumulation of 2 to 4 inches possible.

Friday Night: Snow. The snow could be heavy at times. Low around 21. Windy, with a northeast wind 31 to 36 mph, with gusts as high as 55 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100 percent. New snow accumulation of 11 to 17 inches possible.

Saturday: Snow, mainly before noon. High near 26. Windy, with a north wind 24 to 31 mph, with gusts as high as 46 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80 percent. New snow accumulation of 3 to 5 inches possible.

Saturday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 9. Blustery, with a north wind 13 to 20 mph, with gusts as high as 31 mph.

took em long enuf----rest of the schools canceled a lot earlier---I don't think we needed Dr. Mel to make that decision---get your head outta your ------ Waterford!.........
