VIDEO: Hurricane Sandy Batters Guthrie Beach

The beach has been consumed in water already, five hours before high tide.

Five hours before high tide, Guthrie Beach in New London was completely consumed by waves.

Meteorologists say the worst of the storm is yet to come, as an especially high tide thanks to a full moon coupled with the heavy winds of Hurricane Sandy will bring a massive storm surge to Southeastern Connecticut. High tide is at 10 tonight.
