The New Connecticut Ice Cream Trail
Six Mystic and Stonington businesses are on the ice cream trail and one makes the Tasty Ten list.
Whoever said ice cream was only a treat for kids clearly never tasted any of the flavors along the Connecticut Ice Cream Trail.
From the, Seaport Salty Swirl featuring “peanuts, peanut butter and ‘soggy resistant’ chocolate-covered pretzels from , to the White Russian from Cows & Cones or just an ordinary soft-serve twist, ice cream is the perfect cool-down treat when the sun is sweltering.
To help find that perfect scoop or two is Mystic County with the recently released Sundae Drives 2012. The guide highlights the best ice cream in Eastern Connecticut along with suggestions of nearby attractions to visit. Think of it as Connecticut’s Ice Cream Trail. And for all of the localvores in Connecticut the guide even includes where the ice cream is processed. The list of places to try is so good that ABC News included it in their list of America’s Best Ice Cream Trails and Festivals.
